Educational Qualification
Eligibility depends on the group applied for, with each group’s trades set out in Appendix-A of its advertisement. Across the technical groups the common pattern is a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate branch with one year of post-qualification experience, or a three-year Diploma with two years, or an SSC pass with CITS/NCIC in the same or relevant trade and three years of experience.
The branch shifts by group. Mechanical/Production/Fabrication/Metallurgy applies for the Fabrication Group, Mechanical for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Costume Design, Dress Making or Fashion streams for Apparel and Fashion. The Medical and Nursing Group spans Microbiology, Nursing or Midwifery, Sanitary Inspector and Radiology qualifications. Employability Skills stands apart, needing an MBA with one year of relevant experience or a BBA with two years. Basic computer knowledge is required in every case, and all conditions are counted as on 3 August 2026.

Selection Process
- Single-stage competitive examination: CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) or OMR, objective MCQ type
- Part-A (90 questions, 90 marks) and Part-B (120 questions, 120 marks), total 210 questions in 180 minutes with negative marking of 1/4 mark

Exam Pattern
The exam is a single objective MCQ paper in two parts. Part-A carries 90 marks: Logical tests and Data Interpretation (30), Mathematical tests (30), and Indian Constitution, current affairs, Gujarati and English comprehension (30). Part-B carries 120 marks on the related subject as per the group’s prescribed qualification. Total 210 questions in 180 minutes. Negative marking deducts 1/4 mark per wrong answer, and each part has a separate 40% qualifying standard.
