Educational Qualification
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. of India is required, with the result declared on or before 31 July 2026. Candidates registered under NATS must have their graduation result declared between 1 March 2022 and 31 July 2026.
The age limit is 20 to 28 years as on 1 July 2026 for General and EWS candidates, meaning date of birth between 1 July 1998 and 1 July 2006. Candidates who have had training or job experience of one year or more after graduation are not eligible. Anyone who has previously undergone apprenticeship is also barred.

Exam Pattern
The online written test is objective type with 100 questions for 100 marks, across four sections of 25 marks each: General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative and Reasoning Aptitude, and Computer or Subject Knowledge. Total duration is 90 minutes. SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates get 5% relaxation on the aggregate cut-off, and there are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects.
Apprenticeship Terms
The apprenticeship is for a contract period of one year. Apprentices are not treated as employees of the Bank and are not entitled to employee benefits or any claim to regular employment. Apprentices get one day casual leave per month (12 days a year), with a maximum of 4 days at a time. A test of local language applies for the opted state, though candidates who studied the local language at 10th or 12th standard are exempt.

Indian Overseas Bank has 750 apprentice vacancies for FY 2026-27, distributed state-wise across India. Tamil Nadu has the most seats at 200, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 110 and Maharashtra with 85. The vacancies include backlog.
The fee is Rs.236 (including 18% GST) for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, Rs.708 for GEN/OBC/EWS female candidates and Rs.944 for GEN/OBC/EWS male candidates. Payment is made online only through the BEEP portal and is non-refundable.
