Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Fishery Science (B.F.Sc.) from a recognized University in India or abroad. The age limit is 21 to 47 years as on 1 January 2026, meaning the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2 January 1979 and not later than 1 January 2005. PwD candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are eligible for an age relaxation of 10 years over and above 47 years.
As this is a Special Recruitment for SC and ST categories only, applicants must belong to these categories by birth. Candidates must also be citizens of India and must be able to read, write and speak Odia, meeting one of the prescribed Odia language conditions.

Exam Pattern
The written examination has two objective-type papers. Paper-I is 400 marks with 200 questions (2 marks each), duration 2.5 hours. Paper-II is 400 marks with 200 questions (2 marks each), duration 2.5 hours. There is no negative marking. Qualified candidates are called for the Viva Voce Test of 100 marks at about twice the number of advertised vacancies, subject to a minimum of 5.
Odia Language Requirement
Candidates must be able to read, write and speak Odia and must satisfy one of the prescribed conditions, such as passing Middle School with Odia as a subject, passing Matriculation with Odia as a medium in a non-language subject, passing Odia as a language subject in Class-VII, or passing an Odia test at Middle English School standard.
