Union Public Service Commission has announced the 2026 recruitment for the UPSC Civil Services Indian Forest Service. A total of 1,013 posts – 933 for IAS and 80 for IFS – are up for allocation.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any of the listed science streams – Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology or Agriculture – to be eligible for the IFS. The degree should be from a recognised university in India.

Age must be between 21 and 32 years as on 1 August 2026, with the usual UPSC relaxations applying for reserved categories.
